Celeb Engagements: Coloured Stones
We think traditional diamond solitaire platinum engagement rings are effortlessly beautiful and glamorous, but sometimes it’s nice to have something a little different and to inject some colour; these celebs certainly agree – they’ve embraced the coloured stone trend with an array of pinks, reds, blues, greens, and yellows:
Ashlee and Jessica Simpson
These celeb sisters are both fans of coloured engagement rings, sporting beautiful rubies on their wedding fingers. Jessica, the eldest of the pair, received a ruby from her fiancé due to her July birthday, and younger sister, Ashlee, has a stunning ruby and white diamond design for her own ring.

Model, and star of the big screen, Halle Berry, received an enchanting emerald and white diamond ring from her fiancé. The green stone works perfectly with the square cut and the textured gold band. It’s a really unusual choice for an engagement ring, but it works perfectly for this star.

When you think of Mariah Carey, what colour springs to mind? Of course, it’s pink! And her stunning engagement ring reflects her favourite shade too! Her emerald cut ring, with its subtle pink hues, is certainly an eye-catcher! But we wouldn’t expect any less than bling from Mariah, would we?!
Brunette beauty, Elizabeth Hurley, wears a striking sapphire engagement ring; the rich blue stone has a white diamond on each side, giving a simple, yet exquisite look. We love it!
Carmen Electra and third hubby, Rob Patterson, went a little darker with their choice of coloured engagement ring; Carmen sports a lovely black diamond ring that oozes gothic glamour.
Blonde bombshell, Carrie Underwood, wears her coloured stone with pride! The actress and singer was proposed to by Mike Fisher with a beautiful yellow diamond back in 2009; this champagne-coloured stone looks gorgeous on her – complementing her locks perfectly.
And lastly, we come to the most famous coloured engagement ring on our list: this divine Ceylon Sapphire and solitaire diamonds engagement ring was first worn by the late Princess Diana, and was later presented to Kate Middleton when William proposed to his love in 2010. The simple oval design allows the majestic sapphire centre to really shine amongst the subtle diamonds; it’s certainly a ring fit for royalty and it’s definitely our favourite.
