Chiming with the understandable penchant amongst celebrities for platinum wedding rings, ‘30 Rock’ star Alec Baldwin and his wife Hilaria Baldwin recently showed off their shiny new rings on social networking site, Twitter. Alec opted for a simple and elegant thin platinum band; while Hilaria’s platinum ring is far more ornate and flashy, featuring a very large round cut centre stone. The two platinum wedding rings make a lovely duo, as do their wearers! The rings can also be said to somewhat complement the personalities of the two: Alec is generally regarded as having a more reserved and strong character, while Hilaria’s effervescent and stunning appearance is complemented by the sparkle of her ring.
The couple tied the knot in a New York City church, St. Patrick’s Old Cathedral with the ceremony being coordinated by Rev. George Deas. Alec’s sharp suit was designed by Tom Ford and Hilaria wore a beautiful silk magnolia Amsale gown. Alec’s daughter Ireland, whose mother is Kim Basinger, wore a chiffon gown also designed by Amsale - Ireland left the ceremony in tears of joy and is reportedly very happy for her father and Hilaria.
Platinum wedding rings have been very popular in recent years and many other celebrities alongside the Baldwins have opted for platinum over other metals - celebrities such as Lara Dutta, Kate Hudson, Reese Witherspoon have followed the trend of having platinum wedding rings.
