For many years, it was traditional for only the bride to receive and wear a wedding ring. In today’s world, however, it’s far more common for both partners to exchange rings, and there is as much choice in wedding rings for him as there is in wedding rings for her.
Matching or individual?
The big question when choosing wedding rings for both bride and groom is whether to go for matching rings or individual styles. There are arguments for both options:- Matching wedding rings – choosing matching wedding rings is another symbol of the joining together of both partners. Some couples choose wedding rings that make a single pattern or motif when joined together, whereas others just choose rings that have the same design on each. Many couples decide to opt for matching rings, and most designs now come in rings that are suitable for both men and women.
- Individual styles – for some couples, it’s more important to choose wedding rings that reflect their own individual style than to go for a matching pair. This means that, for example, the bride can choose a wedding ring that matches her engagement ring, whilst the groom can opt for a more masculine design, or a larger band.
