At Platinum Ring Company we know that love can take many forms, and if your love has blossomed to the point of marriage then we have the perfect platinum wedding rings and platinum engagement rings for you. However, some love does not always take the conventional form. We took a look at some of the world's strangest marriages and were amazed by what we found.
Man marries cat
In Germany a postman married his black and white cat… technically the blushing bride couldn’t say “I Do” so the wedding took place with an actress playing the role as registrar as officials refused to carry out the ceremony. The German postman had lived with his cat for 10 years, when he decided to get married to his furry friend. Although we sell a wide selection of exquisite platinum rings were not quite sure this postman would have found a platinum wedding ring to fit his four-legged friend!
Erika La Tour Eiffel marries the Eiffel Tower
Erika La Tour Eiffel, a former soldier who lives in San Francisco has ‘fallen in love’ with many objects in the past but it is the Eiffel Tower in Paris she chose to make those all-important vows to. Mrs La Tour Eiffel pledged to love, honour and obey the 324 meter iron lattice tower in Paris and legally changed her name to reflect the bond.
Japanese man weds Nintendo game character
A Japanese man known as Sal9000 married the love of his life in November 2009… the love of his life however is a Nintendo game character named Nene Anegasaki. In a ceremony streamed online, Sal9000 married Nene with a real priest, and a live audience. Here at Platinum Ring Company we are not too sure how we feel about this virtual wedding; with the bride being within a video game it makes exchanging beautiful platinum wedding rings rather difficult!
