Speedy celebrity splits - it’s a tradition that spans decades, from the likes of Ava Gardner and Micky Rooney in the early 1940s, to Eddie Murphy and Tracey Edmonds in 2008, with Elizabeth Taylor filling all the gaps in between (eight and counting…). Zsa Zsa Gabor and Felipe de Alba – wedding rings off after 24 hours
Like the rocks at Stonehenge in Wiltshire, nobody really knows where perma-tanned Zsa Zsa Gabor came from. But since arriving in the UK from who-knows-where (Hungary, allegedly) in the 1950s, bejeweled serial wife Zsa Zsa has divorced no fewer than seven husbands. On top of the seven divorces there’s also one annulment, and rather astonishingly, given her record, a marriage that’s now into year number 23. On the question of the annulment, in 1982 Zsa Zsa married the Mexican film star Felipe de Alba on board a ship off the coast of the US. But owing to a fairly significant goof – she’d forgotten to divorce husband number seven – Zsa Zsa had the bigamous marriage annulled within a day, and the relationship reportedly went no further.
Jason Alexander and Britney Spears – wedding rings off after 55 hours
This fusion of two tiny minds took place in Vegas (surprise!) in the early hours of 3 January 2004, after Britney and Jason – old school friends who had been dating for a few months – had downed a few too many in the bar at the Palms Casino Hotel. After managing to lay their hands on a chauffeur-driven limo from https://ultimatetowncar.com/orlando-airport-transportation.php at short notice, the happy ex’s-to-be ordered the driver to take them to the legendary Little White Wedding Chapel, where they asked to be married asap. No sooner had they made their request than they were sent to the County Marriage Bureau to get a licence, but still made it back to the chapel in time to get hitched before sunrise. Next morning, the pair came to their senses (well, partly), and as quickly as they were married, they were divorced. The official annulment happened 5 January 2004, meaning the pair spent no fewer than 55 hours in wedded bliss.
