Summer Wedding Trends 2014

Summer Wedding Trends 2014

Do you like to think that you and your partner are a fashionable pair? Then you’ll want to stay on trend with a stylish wedding, won’t you? Surely you’ll want only the best platinum wedding rings and of course a beautiful dress, so to help you on your way to the perfect on-trend ceremony and celebration take a look at these summer 2014 must haves.

Conservative Cover-ups

Carrying on the trend from 2013, wedding dresses are becoming more conservative with longer sleeves. Taking a cue from the royal wedding and the Duchess of Cornwall’s dress or maybe the classic elegance of Grace Kelly, these dresses are more modest but aren’t less beautiful. Whether a capped sleeve, ¾ length or a full arm of lace, wedding dresses are moving away from the popular strapless numbers. If you want to change things up a little for the evening reception then you could make the sleeves removable.

Mismatched Bridesmaids

Anyone who has ever been part of a wedding can tell you that shopping for bridesmaids dresses can be one of the trickiest parts of the event to organise. There are very few dresses out there that suit all body types, skin colourings and hair colours, and finding a compromise can take time.In summer 2014 however, dresses will be mismatched. All bridesmaids will wear the same colours but in different styles and lengths. You could even purchase one of those multi-way dresses where the same dress can be worn in dozens of different ways. This way your bridesmaids can play a part and design their own dress. In summer 2014 however, dresses will be mismatched. The in-shades

Every wedding season certain colours are more popular than others and this summer is no exception. Popular colours seen in weddings this year will include calming and soft colours such as blush and grey, ocean blues such as turquoise and navy, as well as bold bright colours like yellow and coral.

Garland Greats

Flower garlands are always popular decorations at weddings but if you are getting married this summer adorn them with wild flowers for a natural, handpicked feel. Place them above doorways, along a top table or line the aisle with these garlands for an outdoorsy element which puts a new spin on traditional wedding flowers.

Plaited Perfection

Wedding hairstyles are breaking away and becoming more intricate. Soft curls are no longer fashionable, instead detailed plaited up-dos are a practical yet beautiful must have; think easy twist buns or halo plaits, and don’t forget to add sparkle from hair jewellery!

Edible Art

Cake design will go down one of two avenues this year. The first will be big and bold statement cakes that use bright colours to wow guests with an edible masterpiece. And when we say colour we don’t mean just edible or gum paste flowers, the icing will be multi-colours of the rainbow too. The other option is to have a naked cake. This is a cake that has fillings between its layers but is not covered by icing –it isn’t dressed! Lined with fresh fruit and covered in a light dusting of icing sugar this is the perfect option for a rustic wedding or a DIY alternative. Will you be holding a chic ceremony that is bang on trend with these suggestions? We’d love to see some pics –especially if you are wearing one of our rings. Tag us in your photos on Facebook!
