Wedding Day Checklist: Part 4

Wedding Day Checklist: Part 4

You’re on the final countdown to the day you exchange your platinum wedding rings. If you’re 1 month - 2 weeks before your big day and you have followed our wedding check lists so far, you should be feeling as cool as a cucumber, with everything in hand and under control. So what should you be planning and doing in the final month?

1 month before your platinum wedding rings get exchanged:

1. This is when you should be thinking about your final dress fitting, if you wanted to lose any weight for your big day, it should stop now to ensure your dress fits perfectly. Final fittings for bridesmaids, page boys and flower girls should also take place in the final month.

2. Choose your wedding day perfume, you can incorporate this into some social time with your bridesmaids, meet in a department store after work one evening and combine it with cocktails and a final chat about the arrangements for the big day.

3. It’s a good idea to confirm all bookings with your wedding suppliers now, including checking honeymoon bookings and timings with the venue - including deliveries and the wedding day schedule.

4. Make sure you have all the clothes you need for your honeymoon, you won’t want to be worrying about this in the final weeks of your wedding lead up.

5. The last month is usually when hen and stag do’s take place. This is the one thing that is not your job to organise, your maid of honour and bridesmaids should have this all planned out for you.

6. Decide who will be your witnesses.

7. Arrange your wedding rehearsal date if you’re having a church wedding.

8. Contact any guests who haven’t responded so that you can draw up a final guest list.

2 weeks before your platinum wedding rings get exchanged:

1. Now is the time to finalise the seating plan and make sure you give the venue and caterers a copy.

2. Create guest place cards and table plan, make sure you have a good look in magazines or online to get ideas, there are some beautiful and original ways of doing this that should fit in with the theme of your wedding.

3. Final guest numbers should be provided to caterers, along with any special dietary requirements.

4. Give your photographer a final brief for the day, including a list of essential shots - pictures of your accessories and dress can form gorgeous abstract shots that you can potentially use as thank you cards later.

5. Make sure you have paid for everything that needs to be paid for to avoid any last minute disappointments.

6. Wear your wedding shoes around the house for a short while to help wear them in.
