The 63rd Primetime Emmy Awards, honoured the best in primetime television programming between 1st June 2010 and 31st May 2011. It was held at the Nokia Theatre in Downtown Los Angeles, California, on the 18th of September 2011 and was hosted by Jane Lynch (Glee’s Sue Sylvester). It seems that the celebs walking the red carpet at this year’s Emmy Awards agree that when choosing jewellery, platinum is the ultimate metal.
Celebrity A-lister, Gwyneth Paltrow was flaunting a platinum ring with diamond and onyx, black and white diamond platinum earrings as well as two platinum and diamond bracelets, now that’s what we call glam! Drew Barrymore chose a more understated yet beautiful platinum choice with diamond and platinum earrings. Other celebrities donning the red carpet in platinum jewellery were Cat Deely, television presenter, Julie Bowen, Modern Family actress and Kelly Osbourne, daughter of Ozzy Osbourne of Black Sabbath.
Other celebs seen wearing diamond and platinum engagement rings this year include reality TV start Kim Kardashian and actress Elizabeth Hurley. Kardashian’s ring is an emerald cut diamond in a platinum setting with two side stones, rumoured to be worth around $2million. Kim who married basketball star Kris Humphries this August also wears diamond and platinum wedding ring sadly, both did not choose platinum wedding rings, but we think Kim made the right choice! Elizabeth Hurley’s ring on the other hand, is a large square sapphire with two diamonds either side in a platinum setting, given to her by former Australian international cricketer Shane Warne.
